          Antrum’s Hoop Evolution: Cougs To Mountain Cats

          Washington State University senior Shamon Antrum will continue his basketball career with the Portland (Maine) Mountain Cats of the U.S.

          Basketball League, WSU athletics officials said Wednesday.

          Antrum, a native of New Haven, Conn., will report for training camp with the professional team Saturday.

          The 5-foot-10 shooting guard joined WSU as a transfer in the 1994-95 season and started all of his 59 games with the Cougars.

          Antrum averaged 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists at WSU.

          He finished with 113 3-pointers, placing him sixth on the school’s career list, and posted the eighth-best free-throw percentage in school history (.779).

          “I’m happy to have the opportunity to play basketball and keep chasing the dream of going to the NBA,” Antrum said.
