C.V.

Raman, or Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, was born on November 7, 1888, at Tiruchirappalli in southern India. His father was a lecturer in mathematics and physics. At a young age, he was exposed to an academic environment. His contribution to science and innovative research helped India and the world. 

He discovered the Raman Effect and won a Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery.

Every year on February 28, National Science Day is celebrated to pay tribute to Nobel Laureate Dr. C.V. Raman.
