          Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer is a banking business expert. He graduated from Cairo University - Faculty of Economics and Political Science (Economics) in 1973. He was awarded the Arab Banking Personality Award 2006 during the International Arab Banking Summit in Brussels, Belgium.

          Al Tayer has held many positions and ministerial portfolios such as Minister of State for Finance and Industry 1983-1997; Acting Minister of Education 1986-1991; Minister of Transportation 1997; Acting Minister of Public Works and Housing (2003-2004).
